Michael Booth Palmer

Michael Booth Palmer’s career in the entertainment business has spanned over 35 years. As an emerging singer-songwriter and recording artist in the early 1970s, Michael performed in concert with the likes of Boz Scaggs, Dan Hill, Jessie Winchester, Shawn Philips and Randy Bachman. He was also one of the first independent country/folk recording artists to achieve successful distribution and extensive radio airplay on MOR and Country radio stations across Canada.

Michael has toured through Germany and released two CD’s of original material titled “Wheel of Romance” and “Looking For Trouble” with a third CD “All It Takes Is Heart” recorded “live in concert” available now.

During the 1980’s Michael mixed music with the magic of theatre, bringing his warm and generous writing style to the creation of over 50 musical plays and 100 original songs. Over the course of 17 years, his engaging scripts and music entertained over 250,000 visitors at the world famous Theatre Royal in Historic Barkerville, British Columbia, Canada.

In the 1990s, Four Strong Winds, Michael’s co-written nostalgic musical retrospective of the 1960s folk era, played to rave reviews at both the Langley Playhouse in Langley BC and the Starlight Theatre in Vancouver. Most recently Four Strong Winds was remounted in Hudson, Quebec.

Most recently, Michael and his band The Fretbenders recorded a live in concert album recorded at St James Square in Vancouver, British Columbia.  The subsequent CD and DVD will be released within months.  Also on tap, a cross Canada tour in support of Pat Taylor’s documentary film Chasing Rainbows -  Young Adults Living With Cancer.
